John Scot Barrowman was born in 1967 in the Mount Vernon area of Glasgow, Scotland; the youngest of three siblings. John lived in Glasgow for the first eight years of his life. In 1976, the company his father worked for relocated to Aurora, Illinois, USA.
Barrowman is best known for his character - Captain Jack Harkness, in Doctor Who and spin off Torchwood.
