Eve Myles - In new BBC drama 'Frankie'

Dean Lennox Kelly (Shameless, Doctor Who) will play Frankie's boyfriend Ian, while Derek Riddell (Ugly Betty) will star as her team member and confidant Andy.
"This is an incredible leading part for a female," said Myles. "It's tremendous pressure but also tremendously exciting. I can't wait to step into Frankie's shoes and get on set. I'm desperate to start.
"Frankie is an infectious character, she's electric, quirky, wonderful at her job and adapts to every situation. She's a vibrant woman trying to live life in the fast lane and juggle a job. Lucy Gannon is an incredible writer and writes relationships so beautifully."
Julia Ford (News Tricks), Leila Mimmack (Inside Men) and Carla Henry (New Street Law) will also star in Frankie, which is currently filming in Bristol and will air on BBC One in May 2013.
"If it has ended in Hollywood with Miracle Day, well, then we came from BBC Three to BBC Two to BBC One to Hollywood - that's a drama in itself. Wonderful experience, wonderful memories."
Myles confirmed that she has heard nothing about a potential fifth series, but added that she is eager to reprise her role of Gwen Cooper.
"When Russell is ready, if he is ever ready, then he's got people who love and adore it just as much as he does," she said.

Torchwood Season Four Begins Filming in the US

In November, creator Russell T. Davies told TV guide, that "fingers crossed, it will be a go. We expect things to start to move in January."
Best guess is that this was a pilot episode, as the filming time was limited to the first two weeks of April.
History suggests that moving the series to the US means revamping it severely, as has been done with other UK shows to go overseas. However, that staff are calling it a "fourth season," and that Barrowman is involved, implies otherwise -- especially since BBC veterans Julie Gardner and Jane Tranter are working alongside Davies as executive producers.
If it is a continuation of the UK series, sad news for those wishing for Gareth David-Lloyd's return as the ghost of Torchwood past: his April schedule hyas been packed with extraneous events.
Eve Myles' involvement in the new series remains unknown, but we can hope.

Captain Jack: Back in Doctor Who 2010?
Christian Cawley (kasterborous.com)
Doctor Who and Torchwood star John Barrowman is once again on the press promotion circuit in advance of the premier of his new series Tonight's The Night (a sort of modern take on Jim'll Fix It) this Saturday night.
When quizzed by BBC Radio 1's Newsbeat's Sarah Jane Griffiths on the Eleventh Doctor Matt Smith, John revealed that the new actor is "really excited" about starting work on the series.
More interestingly however he also failed to deny that Captain Jack Harkness - first seen in Steven Moffat's The Empty Child in 2005 - would be returning to appear opposite a third incarnation of the Doctor...
Is Jack likely to make an appearance?
Jack will always return to the Tardis if the Doctor is in need to help save the planet or conquer an alien race trying to invade. That's all I can say. You know how secretive we are.
John Barrowman's six-part series Tonight's The Night kicks off Saturday April 18th at 6.55pm.

60's Child
"Paul Copley plays Clem. As a child, back in the 60s, Clem escaped a threat from an alien force which may or may not be the same alien force returning [the 456]. He's spent most of his life in and out of psychiatric hospitals because everyone thinks he's doolally, and he's the first person to work out that they're coming back."
Bennet goes on to describe another aspect of the show's arc, "Torchwood is the only surviving body that knows anyhting about the aliens being here before in the '60s, and the government want to cover that up because they didn't share that with the rest of the world. Basically, they release a blank page on Torchwood - that's their way of saying, 'Dispose of them, they never existed!' - and it's the job of Johnson [Liz May Brice] to go and execute that."
Meanwhile, despatched to floor 13 of MI5 headquarters is Peter Capaldi as Mr. Frobisher, "He's a civil servant, and in the words of the Prime Minister, he's 'expendable'. So he's volunteered to go and communicate with this alien threat that's determined to put a stop to the world as we know it."
To catch the rest of Peter Bennent's interview - as well as a ever so slight talk with Eve Myles - make sure you catch SFX#182 out this Wednesday. It's a great issue that also previews the latest Star Trek film, talks to writer Alan Moore and goes behind the scenes of the second run of adventures for BBC One's Ashes to Ashes. Pick it up for £3.99.

New Radio Drama Series and Audiobooks
What is sure to cause mass speculation amongst Torchwood fans is the current cast listing the site gives:
"A Brand new, made-for-radio episode of Torchwood, starring John Barrowman, Freema Agyeman and other members of the TV cast (all details TBC)".
While it looks like we'll be seeing (Or indeed hearing) the delightful Martha Jones in these new audiobooks, is this a hint towards Agyeman being added to the Torchwood cast in the show's future TV escapdes? Or is it just a guest stint for the audiodramas? Or is it actually a simple matter of Play.com being lazy and copy/pasting the cast list from the "Lost Souls" special Torchwood did in conjunction with BBC's coverage of the CERN experiment last year?
