He famously travels in a blue police box with more space inside than outside.

So when it came to buying a new home it’s no surprise Doctor Who star Matt Smith needed a pad with the right dimensions.

From the outside, his flat looks like a church. But just like the Tardis, appearances can be deceptive. The narrow windows give no clue to the scale inside. The two-bedroom apartment has a 31ft lounge and a triple-height vaulted ceiling.

It is the 27-year-old’s first property purchase since he became the 11th and youngest-ever actor to play the Doctor. The North London flat is being sold by hip-hop star DJ Yoda – real name Duncan Beiny – who accepted an offer above the £775,000 asking price. Estate agents call it a ‘magnificent property’ boasting ‘beautiful stained-glass windows’.
