Rumours of a Doctor Who US remake have emerged from a fake news story online.Some fans of the sci-fi drama were duped by a spoof news story on satire site Sharpened Sticks which claimed that BBC America was collaborating with Netflix on a Doctor Who US remake.
The site wrote that BBC America, which airs Doctor Who in the States, were dissatisfied with Peter Capaldi being cast as the twelth incarnation of the Time Lord. The post has since been confirmed as a spoof , although some Doctor Who fans were taken in and took to Twitter to vent their frustrations:
