The biggest Doctor Who news, according to the press reports today, is that David Tennant will be back on board for the Steven Moffat era.
Again, there's no solid announcement from the BBC, who just love to keep us guessing (and I suspect various BBC publicity and scheduling people are dying to know, not to mention Character Options, the toy license holders) but a new series in 2010 with David Tennant remaining in the role would be a fantastic development.
"David loves filming Doctor Who. The upcoming specials have given him more freedom to work on other projects this year and now he's ready to come back to film a proper series to go out in 2010."
If ever a Doctor deserved a long run, it was Tennant's, and a fourth full series would bring the actor to within a year of equalling Jon Pertwee's run on the show.
